Syro Malabar Youth Movement Graz

The Syro Malabar Youth Movement (SMYM) is the official youth movement of the Syro Malabar Church. Worldwide, the Syro Malabar Church has more than 1.6 million Catholic youth. The SMYM was officially inaugurated on 30 August 2014, and the Syro Malabar Youth Commission was formed in the first session of the Synod of Bishops in 2015. Though still young, the movement is flourishing and has a strong presence in major Syro Malabar mission centers both in India and abroad.

Meaning: SMYM unites Syro Malabar youth under the shelter of the Holy Cross to practice faith, hope, and love. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we strive to serve God, uplift society, and witness Christ in the modern world.

The SMYM Graz unit is part of this worldwide movement, working with the St. Mary’s Syro Malabar Community Graz (SMC Graz). Our youth are dedicated to living their faith actively, supporting one another, and contributing to the community.
