St. Mary’s Syro-Malabar Community Graz joyfully celebrated Parish Fest 2026, bringing together the faithful for a memorable celebration of faith, prayer, fellowship and vibrant community life.

The solemn Holy Qurbana was led by Mar Stephen Chirappanath, Apostolic Visitor for the Syro-Malabar Faithful in Europe. The celebration was enriched by the presence of several priests who joined as concelebrants:

General Vicar Kolasa Yuri, Fr. Darius, Fr. Petrus Farcas, Fr. Clemens, Fr. Nicholas Thenamakkal, Fr. Joseph Mangalan, Fr. Clement, Fr. Nirmal, Fr. Mathew Joseph, Fr. Tino Joseph, Fr. Ajay Joseph, and our Vicar, Fr. Joel Koyikkara OFMConv.

During the Holy Qurbana, Mar Stephen Chirappanath delivered an inspiring homily centred on the lives and examples of St. Mary and St. Antony. His message touched the hearts of the faithful and carried special meaning for the many young people and students living in Graz, far away from their families and homeland. For those who miss the warmth of their families, their home parishes and the familiar faith community in which they grew up, his words offered encouragement and a sense of spiritual closeness. The message reminded the youth that, even while living far from home, faith and the parish community can provide strength, belonging and a spiritual home.

The solemn Holy Qurbana was followed by a procession, with the faithful joining together in prayer and devotion.

Following the liturgical celebrations, everyone gathered in the church garden for a public gathering and cultural programme. Paulson Ainikkal, General Convener, warmly welcomed the clergy, guests, parishioners and everyone gathered for the celebration.

The festive atmosphere continued with colourful cultural programmes, including dances and songs performed by members of the community. The performances brought together children, youth and families and added joy and vibrancy to the celebration.

Following the cultural programme, everyone joined together for a fellowship meal, sharing food and spending time with one another as one parish family.

At the conclusion of the celebration, our Vicar, Fr. Joel Koyikkara OFMConv, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing his sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed their time, effort and support to make Parish Fest 2026 a great success. He thanked the clergy, organisers, committees, volunteers, performers, families and all members of the community whose dedicated cooperation made the celebration possible.

Parish Fest 2026 was a blessed and joyful occasion for St. Mary’s Syro-Malabar Community Graz, beautifully reflecting the community’s faith, unity, cultural heritage and spirit of fellowship.
